According to published reports, South Carolina governor Mark Sanford's marriage is over, as his fed-up spouse Jenny finally decided to end the travesty.
You may recall that Sanford gained notoriety earlier this year for lying to his staff about going on a hiking trip when he, in fact, flew off to Argentina to spend some "quality time" with his mistress. He had no choice except to admit it when news of sighting him in an airport was leaked to the press.
Since that time, Sanford's life has been a whirlwind of controversy, as he was accused of abusing his powers, being derelict of his duties as governor and more.
Nobody blamed wife Jenny for deciding to move out of the state's "first mansion" with their four kids, but many were surprised that she didn't just dump the guy totally. Instead, she allegedly made many attempts to get reconciled with her hubby, even knowing that this was not his first time as a cheater.
It has now been six months since the story of Mark Sanford's infidelity broke and, although he has managed to avoid being impeached, his wife is ready to move forward with her life. She has written a book, done an interview with Barbara Walters and is determined not to be bitter about the whole matter.
Hm, wonder if the Tiger Woods thing might have inspired her to finally move on?
