If adulthood status was only allowed to those with the sense to handle it, a lot of people would be out of luck.
Take the recent case of a 54-year-old Florida woman whose actions seem to indicate that she is minus several million brain cells. According to reports, she was observed wheeling around a Publix supermarket parking lot in her Lexus.
Nothing unusual, except for the fact that she had a 3-year-old kid on the roof of her vehicle at the time.
Folks who saw the whole thing were, understandably, appalled enough to grab their cell phones and call the sheriff. The authorities got there as quickly as they could and put the woman under arrest.
Believe it or not, she was actually surprised that the cops nabbed her, claiming that her reasons for putting the tiny tot atop her automobile were for the purposes of letting the little darling get some fresh air and have some enjoyable recreation.
The woman seemed oblivious to the fact that she put the child at risk of being injured.
The woman has been charged with child abuse and, if sheer stupidity was a criminal offense, she ought to be serving a life sentence.
