Geriatric comedians in the news again! There is apparently something in the air lately making these old boogers go off the deep end.
This time it is veteran funny lady Joan Rivers.
Anybody who expects an older Rivers to be a "gentler, kinder" version of her young self is going to be sadly disappointed. The comedienne, best known for her salty jokes and addiction to plastic surgery, recently raised eyebrows at a public event.
She allegedly made questionable remarks during her appearance at a Florida Women of Distinction fund-raiser, being held to benefit the Girl Scouts. Stunned observers declare that Ms. Joan distinguished herself by launching into some raunchy, "f-word" laced jokes that included referring to the female gender as "whores" and making other amazingly profane remarks that were ill-suited for the occasion at hand.
While I am certainly not defending Rivers' bad choice of words at this event, you have to wonder what else those in charge of this affair were anticipating? Joan Rivers has never been known for being either classy or demure. Tackines is this woman's trademark and the reason her fans love her.
If they wanted a G-rated performer, maybe they should have asked Miley Cyrus.
